Shengde Lian, representative of CLP and executive director of FCM network, said:"The trend of free association and expression can not be stopped now even though the Communist government hardliners wrongfully thought so. As in out radio address to Chinese people yesterday through VOA and Radio Free Asia, Free China Movement calls the Chinese governemnt to abide by the international laws it signed by releasing Wang Youcahi, Xu Wenli, Zhang Shanguang and Qing Yongming and ratify the coming registration of CLP in Beijing according to Chinese Constitution. We call for the rational action from the citizens in their effort to seek the freedom Chinese citizens deserv and the rational reaction from the government. CLP in formation is setting a good example and is showing sincere intention of cooperation with the government by not seeking to be opposition party but cooperative one. They are not seeking political competition with the Communist Party but coordination in the process of resolving serious dissent from the workers who had been disgarded by the society because of present unfair 'State Firms reform'". Wang Xizhe, leader of Free China Movement who had been in Jails for more than 15 years, said after seven days of hunger strike in front of the United Nations protesting the resent crack down of CDP leaders:"We were told that one member inside the Central Political Bureau disagree with hardliner Jiang Zheming's order to crack down on dissidents which breaks the promise the government made to the International community that China will improve human rights. More pressure is building up to put saction against the Communist in order to protest worsening human rights situations. The facts say by itself that only pressure can make the government change not just lip service and good wish from the international society." (30)
