Dear ,

On behalf of Reality Room Art Gallery, Amnesty International and Free China Movement, we are writing to inquire if you would be interested in hosting the opening of the >Art of Democracy= exhibit on June 5, 1999, with Shengde Lian, the co-captain of the Tiananmen Square March, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Movement, and honor its significance in our personal evolution as a Democracy.

The >Art of Democracy= exhibit will bring together visual artists, writers and musicians, both nationally and internationally renowned, who through their work will be exploring the different facets of democracy, embracing its symbolism both as a reality and as a metaphor.

Reality Room will once again be joining forces with Amnesty International, which has launched its first ever US campaign on the human rights violations that occur within the United States, to call upon American Democracy to continue evolving its ethic into the 21st century and fulfill its role as the paradigm for democracy.

Reality Room will also be working with Maura Moynihan, the politically passionate daughter of Senator Patrick Moynihan of New York and Hafsat Abiola, the daughter of the late, democratically elected President of Nigeria.

This exhibit will be similar in form to the >Enduring Spirit= exhibit which opened at Reality Room in September by world renowned photographer Phil Borges to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). The >Enduring Spirit= exhibit brought together at Reality Room celebrities, heads of state, Nobel Prize Laureates and members of Royal Families to celebrate and declare their support of the UDHR.

Some of the guests during the past year at Reality Room Art Gallery have included: Mary Chapin Carpenter, Shirley Horn, William Schulz ~ Executive Director of Amnesty International USA, Marianne Williamson ~ N.Y. Times best selling author, Lodi Gyari ~ Special Envoy to H.H. the Dalai Lama, Hafsat Abiola, His Majesty Reza Pahlavi, Princess Yasmine Pahlavi, Kerry Kennedy Cuomo, Shengde Lian, Melanie ~ singer/songwriter, Maire Brennan ~ lead singer of Clannad, Senator Moynihan, Congressman Scarborough, Ambassador to South Africa, Ambassador to Australia, Ambassador to Netherlands, Ambassador to Nepal and the Ambassador to Argentina.

Reality Room chooses art as its tool to enrich and uplift the human condition, while promoting those who are actively working toward this end; art breathes life into the desire for change, and motivates its actuality.

I will have our gallery director, Mondee, follow up with a call to your office in the next few days to see if such a project might be something of interest to you. Please let me know if you have any further questions, and thank you for your consideration.
